Property Management in California - 39 hrs. Consumer Protection Category
Course includes 450 page textbook of same name. Security Deposits Tax Laws Credit Reporting Appraisal License Requirements Rent Control Court Cases CFC Regulations. The course can increase your earning power by updating your skills.

Survey - 6 hrs. A combined six hour correspondence course that covers the mandated subjects of Fair Housing, Ethics, Agency and Trust Fund Accounting.
If you are not renewing your license for the first time, and have previously taken the individual 3 hour courses listed below, then you are eligible to take the combined course entitled "Survey", which covers all four subjects in half the time.

Fair Housing - 3 hrs. Fair Housing Category
Increase your knowledge and understanding of sources of Fair Housing and Discrimination Laws. Be able to identify the seven protected classes under Fair Housing Laws.

Trust Fund Accounting - 3 hrs. Trust Fund Category
Understand the definition of real estate trust fund and determine who must comply with the laws the govern such. Master basic concepts of trust fund accounting, handling and record keeping. Be aware of the penalties for failure to comply.

Ethics & Professional Conduct - 3 hrs. Ethics Category
Understand the Commissioner's Code of Ethics and the major conduct areas of the code regarding sale, lease or exchange.

Agency
Understand the requirements of Agency Law and become familiar with forms available to ensure compliance. Understand terms such as dual agency, disclosure, election, confirmation, fiduciary responsibility and much more.

* First time renewals require courses be taken separately, not in combined format

Risk Management
3 hours is now a required course for renewal and covers disclosures, insurance and risk.
